Italian manufacturer Oleo-Mac has introduced the new 'H' Series of entry-level chainsaws designed for domestic use. These models feature medium power to provide the perfect compromise of performance and economy for pruning tasks around the home and garden.

The most compact and lightweight model in the series, the GS 400, is powered by Emak's own 38.9cc 2-stroke engine. The “EasyOn” starting system ensures any user can set the machine running simply and effortlessly, with a minimal number of pulls on the cord. The “primer” facilitates starting even in the harshest climates.

Equipped with an Oregon 16" guide bar and .325" chain, the chainsaw's compactness, versatility and good power-to-weight ratio ensure excellent cutting performance for any use from limbing and pruning to cutting medium-sized trunks. 

The lateral chain tensioner simplifies tension adjustments while avoiding risk of contact with the chain. 

The adjustable aluminium oil pump facilitates operation by allowing the oil feed to be adjusted to suit the workload on the machine and the bar/chain combination. Zero oil flow with the engine at idling speed ensures lower consumption and reduced environmental impact.

The Oleo-Mac GS 400 is equipped with numerous safety features including anti kick-back protection and front hand guard. The anti-vibration system fully isolates the handles from the engine reducing operator fatigue. The Oleo-Mac hedge cutter attachment is both practical and manoeuvrable thanks to an optimal ratio between weight and balance. The 50cm blade with 35mm tooth spacing has 12 adjustment positions which make it possible to change the angle of the blades to adapt them to match your needs. The 0.9 metre shaft enables the operator to trim hedges up to three metres high. 

Adding a 75cm extension shaft into the mix further increases the length of the drive tube to allow the tool to reach higher hedges or loftier branches, making it possible to dispense with the need for impractical ladders or access platforms.

The same compact and lightweight engine unit, together with a no-tools coupling system for mounting the various attachments, makes this tool easy to use in all seasons: cutting the grass and trimming hedges in spring, or pruning and leaf blowing during the autumn months.

IMPORTANT: From 2017, Oleo-Mac multi tool attachments have a 26mm drive shaft. To allow attachment of the new accessories to the previous power unit or split shaft brush cutter models which have a 24mm transmission tube, a new 24/26mm adapter joint has been introduced and this part (61372181R) can be purchased separately.

Oleo-Mac's new version of its Tap&Go EVO nylon line head provides a feed system that works without needing to stop the machine: simply tap the central cover on the ground to feed the 2.4mm diameter line. An optional 255mm three-tooth blade is available for heavier applications. Protection against debris thrown up by the cutting gear is provided by the sturdy plastic blade guard.
