The Cobra Fortis 17B features a 43cm (17") cutting width and six-bladed precision-ground cutting cylinder which achieves enviable results with a scissor-like cutting action at a remarkable rate of 79 cuts per metre. This versatile lawn mower benefits from an interchangeable cassette system to allow the cutting cylinder to be quickly removed and replaced with a range of optional lawn care accessories.

The combination of a steel front roller and cast, ribbed, split-differential rear roller helps to lay down those beautiful, classic stripes that are the hallmark of a cylinder lawn mower. If you have flower beds to navigate around, the rollers also let you overhang the lawn edge slightly to allow you to cut right up to the edge without the worry of the blades scalping the lawn. The cutting height can be adjusted from an exceptionally low 6mm up to 30mm via a single screw so you can select the ideal mowing height for your chosen area and the conditions.

The front-mounted grass box has a spacious 65 litre capacity and provides efficient debris collection and easy emptying. Conventient folding handles allow for easy transportation and compact storage. 

Powered by a reliable 4hp Briggs & Stratton XR550 Series™ engine which runs on the latest E10 fuel, the self-propelled Fortis 17B has an easy recoil start and heavy-duty drive system. The Fortis 17B also benefits from blade brake clutch (known as BBC) which allows you to step away from the lawn mower without shutting off the engine. The BBC disengages the blades and stops the cylinder rotating, whilst the engine continues to run so you will only need to start your engine once each time you use the lawn mower. This feature also allows you to move the lawn mower between areas of grass without the blades turning, which comes in handy when you need to cross the gravel or a paved path, empty the collection box or wish to stop mowing to remove some obstacles on the way.

A grooved roller is also available which can be fitted in place of the smooth front roller, as well as a turf rake to help improve cutting performance.
