If you maintain a lawn up to 480 square metres in size, the self-propelled, variable speed LM1700E-SP 42cm battery-powered lawn mower from EGO Power+ will deliver petrol-matching power but without any of the downsides. Simpler, cleaner, quieter and with less vibration, this cordless lawn mower also benefits from lower running and maintenance costs. And with zero emissions during use, you can do your bit to reduce your impact on the environment as well.

The lawn mower features a 42cm poly deck powered by a 56 volt lithium-ion battery (not included) making it easy to set up and start - no filling up with fuel, just click in the battery and get to work!

The fan and blade combine to deliver outstanding grass collection into the 55 litre collection bag. Adding extra flexibility to the LM1700E-SP, an optional mulch kit is also available.

A single charge of a 2.5Ah battery will cut up to 300 square metres and a 4.0Ah battery will cut up to 480 square metres of lawn. Depending on the grass conditions, the cutting height can be adjusted via a single lever through seven stages from 20mm up to 80mm. The handle is also adjustable in three positions to suit the operator.

The EGO Power+ LM1700E-SP also benefits from an upright storage position so it takes up a smaller footprint in your garage between uses.

This is a superb all-rounder that’s light, manoeuvrable and small enough to fit through garden gates and take care of a small to medium sward, while the variable self-propelled drive system makes light work of larger lawns and inclines, and would be suitable for an area up to 300 sq m. This is helped with the 42cm cutting width and a blade that mulches and sends the rest of the clippings into a huge 55L grass collector, so that we didn’t have to keep stopping to empty it. Without fail, we were always left with a precise finish and a real professional cut.

Adjustable handles and large wheels, with good tread, added to the overall usability. The vertical storage meant that the mower’s footprint was minimal. We also found the Ego battery system one of the best out there in terms of run time from a single charge (we got 35 minutes from our five amp hours (AH) battery. This model comes with a 2.5AH battery and charger as standard, but you can upgrade as Ego batteries are interchangeable. The poly deck keeps the weight down, so it never feels like you’re fighting with it. The five-year warranty on the mower and two-year warranty on the battery adds to the value of the package.
