Towable / PTO-Driven Wood Chippers

The Hansa C13 PTO (power take off) wood chipper is suitable for large estates, local authories, golf courses, contractors, farmers and orchadists in their quest to recycle valuable organic waste. Suitable coupled to any small tractor from 17hp to 45hp, simply hitch the chipper to your three-point linkage and run 540rpm to give you a machine that has the same capabilities as its engine-powered equivalent. 

The Hansa C13 will mulch your organic matter to produce the finest fertiliser in the form of compost in a matter of weeks, or for use as mulch to surpress weed growth and retain moisture in the soil.

Employing two cutting knives, the heavy duty C13 has the appetite to chip branch material (green or dry) up to 90mm thick. 

With the Hansa C13 no pre-cutting is necessary and the branches are drawn into the input chute. The cutting blades shear the material against an adjustable hardened counterknife, or anvil. This action will be just as efficient in 10 years' time as on the first day of use, so long as the knives are kept sharp.

The extremely efficient self-feeding action can be attributed to the design of the rotor and the blade set up. The inertia generated by the large rotor disk creates sufficient momentum to continue cutting, as well as providing enough of draught to discharge the mulch up to 4 metres away. The distance can be moved closer to the operating area, if desired, by adjusting the deflector on the chute. Having a discharge height of 1.2 metres makes the C13 model ideal for discharging onto a trailer, wheelbarrow or stockpile, eliminating the need for any double handling of the material.

Access to blades and clearing of the cutting chamber is simple - a few turns of the wingnut and everything is accessible within seconds. The blades are individually adjustable, eliminating the need for angle adjustment and allowing optimal clearance. The blades can last anywhere up to 30 hours before requiring sharpening, depending on the type of material being handled. 

The C13 housing is constructed from 5mm steel plate with a quality powder-coated finish (media-blasted surface for excellent adhesion), which provides the strength and resilience that means this machine will last you a lifetime. 

A world-class chipper designed for commercial use and built in New Zealand by Hansa, the C21PTO is the largest gravity self-feeding model in the range. Boasting an extremely heavy duty cutting disc, the machine is able to handle the rigorous needs of the most demanding operator. Its inlet chute is specifically shaped to assist the feeding of heavier branches and bushy foliage.

Suitable for lawn tractors of 20hp to 55hp, this chipper is connected to the tractor by the three-point linkage. Designed for a PTO speed of 540rpm, the driveshaft is fitted with a shear pin device for protection of the machine and tractor. Because of its compact design, the machine is relatively light, easily manoeuvred and can be operated in areas with restricted space and access.

This disc type chipper is of solid construction which boasts a chipping capacity of 100 to 130mm diameter branches, depending on the type of wood. The C21PTO will process branch and brushy material and other vegetation material. It has a large inlet chute for feeding in bigger bundles of brushy and twiggy materials, vines and larger branches, therefore no pre-cutting is necessary. The machine has a very efficient self feeding action thanks to the design of the rotor and the blade set-up, resulting in a user friendly machine easy on the operator. The inertia generated by the large rotor disc creates enough momentum to keep cutting as well as giving the machine enough draught to discharge the mulch up to 10 metres away (or close to the operating area by adjusting the deflector on the outlet chute). Having a discharge height of 1.8 metres makes the C21PTO ideal for discharging onto a trailer or truck, eliminating the need for any double handling of mulch.

By pivoting open the outlet chute this allows full access to the inside of the machine. This makes changing blades for sharpening simple and requires little effort. As with all of the larger Hansa chippers, adjustable blades eliminate the need to adjust the anvil after sharpening, giving the ability to adjust each blade individually to the anvil for optimal clearance. The blades will last anywhere up to 30 hours use before requiring sharpening, depending on the type of material being mulched.
